In things I’m considering… 0

Downloading iTunes. (Yes, I know it’s 2009. I haven’t downloaded a song since Kazaa was king, which means since my sophomore year of college.)

Ordering a Dirty Pickle the next time I go to a classy bar, which is to say, perhaps sometime in the next five years.

Making kale chips with the ungodly amount of greens I am still receiving from my CSA every week.

Painting my toenails.

That is all.

I know things are a little YouTube-heavy around these parts lately, but the headline of this article, “Greenspan ’shocked’ that free markets are flawed,” really made me think of this:

Things I did today:

  • had a very insane and hectic day at the office
  • went to happy hour with a dear old friend from high school
  • came home and wrote a chapter of my book

Therefore, I am tired.

But here’s a picture of one of my cats!

He’s cute, look at him! Don’t mind me, curled up in the corner here … with the comfy bed … and the pillows … and …

I just had a “need help conceiving?” ad in my sidebar on Facebook. Guess they think this is gonna be a white wedding.

I believe Amy called it, just a few weeks ago. Although she thought (and I did too) that the pregnancy/kids stuff would start after my status changed to “married.”

That’s right, kids 2

See that fancy little NaBloPoMo badge to the left? That pretty green square with the flower stem-looking things inside it and the words “31 posts in 31 days?” I’m totally going to do it. I know I’ll hate it by the end of the month, and I’ll probably want to swear off blogging forever, but whatevs. I can totally handle it.

This month’s theme is “Voices.” Weird, and I’m not really sure what it means. But I’ll be exploring it, and I hope you stay tuned.

All the billboards along the freeway are for Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery (”We treat everyone like a celebrity.”), breast augmentation (only $2999!), AdultCon (the world’s largest Adult Convention), or Disneyland.

Things Over Which I Have No Control Right Now 4

  1. The (quite large) bounced check that was supposed to be my returned security deposit from the apartment I lived in in Virginia.
  2. The fact that the above-mentioned landlords won’t return my calls.
  3. The nearly $200 in overdraft fees because of aforementioned bounced check.
  4. The washing machine in the apartment upstairs that insists on leaking through my ceiling so hard that my dishes are covered in gross brown ceiling tile water and half my food is ruined.
  5. The fact that eight people were laid off at work today – approximately 20% of the department.

Is that … is that enough? Should I keep going?
